A optical wedges is an optical element having plane-inclined surfaces. Usually the faces are inclined toward one another at very small angles. The wedge diverts light toward its thicker portion. Used as an exposure control device in sensitometry.
Standard optical wedges are usually round, but we can produce wedges in various shapes according to your needs. Each surface is polished flat and inclined to each other at a specific angle. They can be used alone or in pairs. Precise beam misalignment can be achieved by placing two wedges in series and rotating each wedge relative to each other, then rotating the wedge assembly.
Applications of Optical Wedges:
1. laser imaging
2. laser beam steering
3. laser target
4. Beam deviation
5. beam steering
6. beam shaping
Oplens offers custom wedges for reflecting or refracting light at precise angles and in a variety of biases, wedge angles, shapes, sizes and materials; coated or uncoated. You are welcome to contact us for customized wedges!
